iPhone Conference
November 1, 2008

Yesterday I spoke for Sen:te at Netinfluence's iPhone Conference in Geneva.

It was mostly a business/marketing conference but many developers were still there.

I spoke about the iPhone camera capabilities and did demonstrate two software prototypes:

  • an application representing the iPhone library's photos on a Google Map (useful for walks, but also in business cases such as tourism, delivery services etc.);
  • an application taking pictures from a remote server and saving them in the iPhone library, the remote server beeing my MacBook Pro in the back of the room.

As a bonus, I also showed RuntimeBrowser and talked about private frameworks usage.

Although speaking without slides was not that easy, I think I made my point, and many technical and non-technical people came up to us and asked for details.

I also took part in open-panels discussions about iPhone security and what makes iPhone applications successful (think functionality, icon, name, ratings and regular updates).

Altogether, I think it was still interesting to put technical and non technical persons together around the iPhone, so thanks to Netinfluence for having organized this event.
